Blog Post Eighteen - The Final Post

Hello Everyone!

We've made it through! I am so proud of everyone for getting through this class, it was indefinitely the most labor intensive I have encountered thus far; however, very informative. Huge thank you goes out to Mr. Wu for going above and beyond for his students this semester! It is refreshing to have learned from a professor that does truly care about his students.

Best of luck to everyone in the coming future and I hope everyone has a great Summer!

Blog Post Seventeen

Hello! I hope everyone is doing well in these final days of the semester! I know I am counting down the days!

Below is a photo of a baby sloth for no apparent reason other than I wanted to post a photo of a cute baby sloth.

Blog Post Sixteen

Hello all!

I hope all is well with everyone. I just found out my blood pressure is incredibly low. Apparently this is a good thing, the doctor I spoke to even asked if I regularly worked out because this is something normally seen in athletes. I assuredly am far too lazy to work out, so I was both surprised and happy to hear him say that!

Anyways, highlight of the day!

Blog Post Fourteen

I was inspired by Sharnae's recent blog post to write a positive, counting-my-blessings post.

I am thankful for the friends I've made here, friends that I am able to open up to, cry to and laugh with. Friends that I am able to be weird and awkward with. Friends that accept me with all my flaws and teach me more about the world each day. I'm thankful for the friends that have left me. Friends, that most would not consider friends, that have taught me more of who I am and who I don't want to be.

I am thankful for my job. That of which stretches me to be the best I can possibly be and is giving me a foot up for the future. I'm thankful for the independence it gives me.

I am thankful for my home. Thankful I have a place to exist and feel safe. Thankful to have wonderful neighbors that are happy to lend a garden hose when I need to wash the endeering Accord.

I am thankful for my cat. My little half-blind BFF that is happy to provide me company while I trudge through mountains, upon mountains, of homework and projects.

I am thankful to be surrounded with beautiful actual mountains to climb. Mountains that surround you, and allow you to feel a world away from this concrete jungle.

I am thankful for my awesome family. Weirder than I am, but full of support.

I am thankful for days like today. Days that I can make pancakes for my friends, laugh and buy myself flowers.

Anyhow, I could continue on, but I have other homework to attend to and taxes to begin. Happy weekend everyone.

Blog Post Thirteen

Hello all!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable week. I currently am going through a lot of testing at the moment in my other courses. Hopefully, I did 'OK', but unfortunately I am not feeling incredibly confident! We will see next week!

Happy Weekend!

Blog Post Twelve

How did everyone do with the power outage yesterday? That wind was wild. Apparently there were about 44,500 Southern Nevadans out of power due to the inclement weather. I've never experienced anything like it!

Blog Post Eleven

Hello!

Feeling very negative. I desperately need to sleep and take care of myself, but I have no time and won't have any time for the next two weeks because some key people that I work with are on vacation and I am covering their positions until they return.

I have to keep reminding myself that this stage in life is only temporary in order to get myself to where I need to be. I'll be happier later in life if I push through now.

I hope everyone has an awesome weekend!

Not sure if we're supposed to write blog posts through Spring Break, but anyhow, I figured out how to customize my blog! YAY!

Enjoy the break, guys!

Blog Post Eight

A little overwhelmed with work and school this week. When you're in the business that I am in (short term rentals), when it gets busy, it gets REALLY busy.

Essentially, I went six days of the week staying up until 3 am for school homework and waking up at 7 am for work. I am going on yet another day of that same schedule as I sit currently at a coffee shop with the plan to not leave until I catch up.

Anyhow, I hope that everyone had a great week!

Ok, I failed the most recent exam miserably. Guess I'll have to study more for the retake and next exams!

Happy weekend everyone!

I'm feeling very negative today and I don't want to share that with others, so below are some cute photos of cats!

I hope everyone has a great day!

Blog Post Five

I am completely and utterly exhausted today, but that is definitely becoming the new normal for this stage of my life! I feel like I am constantly complaining on this blog, but at the end of the day on a Friday when I write my posts, typically all I can think about is how I desperately just want to just go to sleep.

Anyways, this week has been incredibly productive! Worked 6 am to 5 pm daily with classes occurring Monday through Friday and somehow managed to keep up with all of my reports for work and homework!

I hope everyone else is doing well!

Blog Post Four

Life at 20:

Person: "You've grown up so much! How does it feel to be an adult?"
Me: "Well, most of the time I feel like a 10 yr old in heels that may as well be signing bills with Crayola Crayons, but ya know, everything's great!"

Blog Post Three

I can definitely feel the course "gaining speed." This to me just enforces the importance of keeping up with the course load! I have so far had the best luck with completing my homework by coming to school a few hours early before class and staying late after class to complete the majority of my assignments (thank you, Mr. Wu for allowing this.)

Today has been especially long, as I began work and left my home at 4am and came directly to school. At the moment, I am very ready to go home, watch some Netflix and cuddle my cat, but I am determined to finish the work I need to complete for this course! So I shall stay late once again!

Best of luck to all of you!

Blog Post Two

I'm contemplating whether or not my course load is too large this semester. However, so far by cutting out socializing (Yes, I am aware of how pathetic and absolutely horrible that sounds) I have been able to balance school with work.
Working 50 hrs a week and taking four courses is honestly overwhelming, but often I find that being as busy as I am, keeps me focused and I actually do better in school and work. I have absolutely no time to procrastinate.

Blog Post One

First, I must say that IS101-3017 is not how I expected it to be; however, that is indefinitely not a negative thing. I had previously been told by a school counselor that this class was "basic and easy." While none of the tasks so far have been incredibly difficult, they have indefinitely been very detailed. I can tell that I will probably spend a great deal of time with this.

I can definitely tell that Mr. Wu cares a great deal about this course and the well being of the students. This is exemplified in ways such as a personalized email a week before the beginning of the semester that all students received. Although I may not have much experience, as I have only been in college at CSN for a year now, I would definitely say that Mr. Wu is probably one of the most involved and caring professors I have had so far.
